How to Retire While You Consult

Note: This meeting will  be at the Brainery, 176 Anderson  Street. See map below.

Presenter: Michael T. Chabalik

Michael's talk will cover his own recent transition story and what he learned about himself professionally and personally, and how being fearful can effect your decision making. He will then address the concepts of either being "retired" or "quasi-retired," what the differences are and some key considerations surrounding that including how Social Security effects your income if you're not FRA (full retirement age) and the emotional aspects of continuing to "work" in some capacity. The talk will also cover various types of retirement plans for the self-employed as well as an overview of health savings accounts; including a potentially tax free way to fund one. In closing Michael will provide some insight and motivation regarding how to grow and sustain any business where you are actively seeking clients.

Three key learnings the audience will take away from this program:

  1. The mindsets of retiring, quasi-retiring and the value of purpose.
  2. Key types of retirement plans for consultants, how to best utilize them as well as health savings accounts.
  3. Ideas for growth of your practice/business.
