As a consultant you have a host of options available to you that a traditional employee does not have in the way of retirement plans, potential tax deductions and income challenges with no set paycheck! This talk will be dual focused, first speaking to the financial considerations and options a consultant has including which retirement plans to consider, being paid 1099 vs. W2 and how the recent tax reform affects that; and second some growth focused strategies to increase new clients.

Michael has been in the financial services over 15 years and is a professional speaker on a multitude of topics ranging from financial planning to networking and sales/marketing. In addition to running a successful financial services practice Michael also was the training program coordinator locally at his prior firm coaching over 50 new financial advisers through their 3 year training program. He holds B.S. from R.I.T. and a CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) from the Wealth and Investments Institute which is the only financial services designation accredited by ANSI (American National Standards Institute). He lives in Fairport with his wife Amy, and their 6 year twins Michael and Madeline.
