The Leadership Attention Crisis

Stop Deciding and Start Directing

Facilitator: David Powe

What if the most important move you make all day isn't a decision, but where you choose to look?  In today's hyper-connected environment, attention is the single most valuable and scarce resource a leader possesses. We often assume our job is making the right call, but the deeper truth is that our primary duty is determining what the organization should focus on.

The most valuable leadership resource isn't money, strategy, or even time.  It's attention.  Your attention is finite and contagious. What you instinctively notice, what you reward, and what you consistently ask about dictates your organizational culture more powerfully than any strategy deck or mission statement.

Mismanagement of this resource is the silent killer of productivity, leading to distraction, widespread burnout, and "strategy drift." But mastering it unlocks instant alignment, renewed energy, and unstoppable momentum.

Bring your biggest challenges and your most provocative questions. We'll discuss the root causes and real-world solutions to the modern attention crisis.

We'll be tackling questions like:

  • The Contagion Effect -- How do we recognize the specific ways our own focus (or lack thereof) is spreading chaos or clarity to our organization?

  • Budgeting Attention -- What practical, non-obvious methods are working to protect the leader's focus for high-leverage, strategic work?

  • The Alignment Gap -- If attention shapes strategy, how do we redesign our meetings, check-ins, and reward systems to ensure our behavior matches our strategic intent?

  • The Burnout Trigger -- Where does fragmented leadership attention directly cause team anxiety and fatigue, and how can we lead with calm, consistent focus?

Ready to stop fighting distraction and start leading with intention? Join the conversation.
