Program Overview:
People get scammed every second of every day, and ANYONE can fall victim to these criminals. You likely have a friend, family member or coworker who has a story about being scammed or barely escaping a scam.
It's not about how savvy you are with technology, it's not about how much money can be taken from you, and there is no specific profile that makes you a target. We are the scammer’s “full-time job” – they spend all their time perfecting their craft, using tools and techniques that are shared in dark places, and they build huge businesses whose sole purpose is to take money from people.
In this discussion, we will talk about how scams work, ways that you can prevent yourself from being scammed, help you alleviate the guilt associated with being scammed, and give you some practical advice for protecting yourself in the future.

David Finger is the owner of The Computer Gardener LLC, a 31 year old firm that provides practical solutions to technology problems of all kinds.
David has many passions in life, including an insatiable curiosity about how our minds work, how beliefs are formed (and held) and how perception has absolutely nothing to do with reality. The explosion that is just starting to occur in the frequency and sophistication of scams is of great concern to him, and has prompted him to seek out strategies for people to protect themselves from scammers.
